On October 20, a result of GOtv Boxing Night, Olaide ‘Fijaborn’ Fijabi will stake Nigeria pride by endeavoring to curb his Senegalese challenger in an African Boxing Union (ABU) title fight in Dakar.

Fijabi had thumped out Shadrack Ignas Kobero of Tanzania to guarantee the light welterweight title in Lagos, and now he is idealistic of confining his Senegalese rival before his home fans when they clash in Dakar.

His coach, Joe Mensah said in Lagos that however there was no information about the Senegalese adversary, Fijabi would be given the specialized training he needs to do Nigeria proud in Dakar.

Prior to Fijabi’s trip to Senegal, Nigerian boxing fans will be treated to one more night of entertainment, as GOtv Boxing Night comes back to Lagos in a big way, with nine bouts on the card, that is the highest number ever since the event debuted in 2014.

After the colossally effective 15th edition in Ibadan in July, the 16th edition of the GOtv Boxing Night, labeled Independence Edition, will hang on October 14 at the Indoor Sports Hall of Teslim Balogun Stadium in Surulere.

Tending to reporters at the Regent Hotel, Ikeja, Lagos, the Chief Executive officer, Flykite Productions, Jenkins Alumona said that GOtv Boxing Night 16 would highlight nine sessions, the greatest among them is the West African Boxing Union (WABU) lightweight title fight between the flashy Rilwan ‘Real One’ Oladosu of Nigeria and Ghana’s Benjamin Lamptey.

Another enormous one is the global lightweight challenge between the African Boxing Union champion, Nigeria’s Oto ‘Joe Boy’ Joseph and Ghana’s Anama Dotse.

Likewise hanging in the balance up is the national light heavyweight title, which pits Kabiru ‘KB Godson’ Towolawi against Adewale ‘Masevex’ Masebinu.

Another marquee match-up will see Waidi ‘Skoro’ Usman in a featherweight fight with Chibuzor ‘T Boy’ Obi.

The bout card is substantial with disclosures from the last two editions of GOtv Boxing NextGen Search.

Unmistakable among these is Opeyemi ‘Sense’ Elijah, the best boxer at GOtv Boxing NextGen 4, who will go up against Sheriff ‘Oshe’ Ogunbanjo in a super bantamweight duel.

The lightweight division will see Taiwo ‘Esepo’ Agbaje go up against Tope ‘TP Rock’ Musa.

Different battles including GOtv Boxing NextGen graduates will see Azeez ‘Who Say So’ Tijani square up with Waheed ‘Showmax’ Shogbanmu, while Isaac ‘I Star’ Chukwudi goes up against Adeyemi ‘Spirit’ Adekanla in the welterweight classification.
